Eu estou no Brasil há 2 semanas e não há um dia em que eu não me surpreenda. A cidade de Joinville é muito grande. Do centro aos bairros tudo muda completamente. Nós podemos ir das mais ricas casa às mais pobres de pouquinho tempo de carro. Parece que tudo muda, mas não é assim. As pessoas são as mesmas. As pessoas são sempre radiantes e todo mundo é bem-vindo. Eles abrem os braços e as suas casas a todo mundo, sorrindo à vida, esperando e fazendo tudo que eles puderem para uma vida melhor.

Estou trabalhando para uma ONG que ajuda pessoas mais pobres. Não é a única organização da cidade, há muitas associações trabalhando para um mundo melhor, trabalhando com os cidadãos para crescerem juntos. Por exemplo, quinta-feira passada eu passei a manhã de loja em loja para arrecadar doações de alimento para crianças mais pobres. Cada pessoa que encontrei era boa e simples. E eu conheci crianças e senti emoções tão profundas vendo através dos seus olhos a esperança em um futuro melhor.

Eu não sei se é fé em Deus ou uma característica particular dessa cidade, mas até agora, acima das diferenças e das semelhanças, essa positiva e forte vontade de fazer a vida melhor e a coisa que mais impacta em mim.

ENGLISH version:

It’s twenty days that I’m in Brazil and there are no days till now where I’m not surprised. Joinville is a really great city. From the centre to the countryside, everything change completely. We pass from the richest house to the poorest ones in few minutes by car. It seems that everything change, but it’s not true. People are the same. People are the same sunny and welcome people that are in the centre. They open their house and arms to everyone, smiling to the life, hoping and doing something for a better one, for themselves and for their children.

I’m working for an NGO that has as vision to help the most vulnerable families. It’s not the only one in the city. So much other associations do it, but especially people in general, organizations or not, do something to improve their society. They don’t avoid the problem of poverty, the less lucky people, but work in order to grow up together. For example, last Thursday, I spent one morning shops by shops to bring from them food donations for poorest children. Each person I met was such a good and simply one. And when I met children, I just fell deep emotions, looking through their eyes so full of hopeness in a great future.

I don’t know if it’s faith in God or just a characteristic of the people of this city, but till now, over the differences, over the similarity, this positive and strong will to make better life is the most impactful thing on me.
